In todays world the cost to live is outstanding. My poor husband works all the time and in other states and even with me owning a photography business (based in home) we are just making it. The fact there are companies out there allowing their call center communications to be done from home is PERFECT. I can continue to shoot my clients, NOT pay daycare (as im always home when I need to be), dont have the outstanding gas cost to go to work or the food costs for lunches. I can stay home, edit my clients photos and during my spare time (or down time) I can work for a company and make extra money from home.

God Bless America

Now...the only con to this for me...lol...is I really have to watch my figure as its WAY too easy to let my body go being home and free to what I want now. ((hahaha))

The flexibility is so nice. I love being able to run errands during the day when everyone is at work, being able to attend all my daughters school functions, having time to work out (even if I don't do it everyday), and not having to commute.

It's great that I can be creative in how I operate my business. I can put my ideas into action, which is really exciting. I also control my own income, so I don't have to wait for an evaluation and have someone else determine whether I deserve a raise.

I enjoy it and I hope I never have to go back to the daily grind.

I would say freedom is what attracts me most because it includes "all of the above".

Freedom to work when I want to
Freedom from a boss
Freedom from paying high gasoline prices for commuting to work
Freedom from worrying about missing work due to car trouble
Freedom from being stuck in traffic jams going into work
Freedom & time to pursue other businesses
Freedom to have negative, destructive co-workers out of my life
Freedom from stress
FREEDOM!

Earnings based on commitment is key, as well as the flexibility, not only in hours, but in how a task is executed!

Flexible hours, not having to commute, and being my own boss are my reasons for having my own business.

I have decided that taking orders from someone younger than me just isn't something I could handle any longer. I rather wipe their noses then have them tell me that I don't know what I am doing when I know their job better than they do. Also it seems I have a problem with authority..LOL
I love working out of my home because I am able to do more of my own free thinking, working with my own ideas how something should be done. Making mistakes doesn't have someone lording over me and trying to tear me down because of it. That is back to that issue I have with a authority again. lol
I found that I have more confidence in myself, I have learn so much more about everything to do with running a business that if I was just a worker bee I would never know. I love to learn so I have found that what I have learn along the way is also helping friends who are just getting started with web businesses. I have to depend on myself more. What I am today would never of happen if I had not been in a car accident. Funny way to look at something that painful but true.

So many reasons...

-no more 1.5 hr commute each way and more time with my kids
-I get to do everything--design, finance, marketing, etc. and I love it all!

Hi Chris, what is FYP? am still waiting to be contacted by Live Ops.

Good question Claudia... CHRIS Help us out here!! What is FYP?

And as far as this thread goes.... I'd definitely have to say all of the above. Becoming disabled, and unable to currently drive, it made getting to my previous job as a 911 telecommunicator impossible... And honestly, I'm not even sure I can handle that job as I once did, although I do miss it dearly.... While I have been waiting on my disability insurance to get over itself, I stumbled onto this... I'm now currently in training with VIPDesk for one of their clients, I had been offered that 175.00 opportunity from LiveOps, but had to turn it down for lack of funding,... I'm also working for ChaCha.com and that is alot of fun.. I've actually had to turn down positions because they weren't a good fit for me, or because they wanted a non compete signed.. but ya know what was great about that?!?! I GOT TO MAKE THE CHOICE! It was my choice to decline.. and that was a great feeling. ..

I could go on as well, but.... (smile) I think this is enough for now!!!

Hi Chris,
I have been reading everyones blogs and your excitement about FYP caught my attention. I am currently looking for a legitimate at wah business. It seems that everywhere I look there is another one but I do not know which ones are actually true. If you would not mind could you please tell me what FYP stands for and how much is the investment.

I have also applied for live ops but have not heard anything back at this time.

Thank you so very much in advance for any information you might want to share.

Thanks,
Lezlie

What attracts me to a home business is all of the above. I have disablilities that stop me from being able to lift heavy objects, or to be able to be on my feet for to long. Working from home would definitely give me the opportunity to make money and work my own hours without discomfort. My 90 days are almost up with LiveOps but I intent to keep applying until I am accepted.

I've always had the desire to start my own business. Because of my personality and very independent, business-like nature, I know this is the niche for me. Problem is I'm still trying to find my niche within that niche. LOL

I enjoy the freedom of doing my own thing... creating my own ideas/ designs, etc, schedule flexibility, and the home base structure which saves both on gas and vehicle wear and tear.

Still seeking & hoping to find... nirvana. (grin)
