I quit my job a year ago to pursue my passion to become an entrepreneur. I really did not know what I was getting myself into because although I love sales and marketing and was always doing sales part time, a full time WFH job is a totally different matter. For me the learning curve has been steep but I learn fast and now find that I am starting to make headway.

One great way to promote your business is by joining forums such as this one which speak to your particulary business and where you can get great tips and advice.

I think promoting your online business offline is a good way to get new members or customers. Nothing beats word of mouth and if your product is good then advertise it to friends, family, church and the community via flyers, classifieds and any free spots you may find in your area. Do business cards and give away along with free samples and catalogs. Leave catalogs and flyers in public places that carry high traffic such as the post office, doctors or dentist (ask permission first).

If you can, offer freebies and gifts for persons to sign up to your website that are inexpensive and make sure they highlight your name or business like keyrings etc.
