The Home Business Network

Hello,
I'm new to this forum and to WAH. I've applied with Arise and have progressed to the step of assembling my office equipment and have a few questions that perhaps someone might answer. The requirements page from Arise list what seems to be 3 separate items to do with Recommended Phones, Headsets, & Phone Line Requirements -

1. Hold, Flash and Head set functionality
RECOMMENDED: Smith Corona or VXI DA-202

2. Computer VOIP Headset, w/Microphone (voice over IP)
RECOMMENDED: Labtec, VXI and Plantronics

3. Recommended Noise-canceling microphones
RECOMMENDED: VXI / Smith Corona Aries Monaural or VXI / Smith Corona Aries Binaural.

Are these actually 3 different items and will I need them prior to starting the $99 initial training online with Arise.

Thanks for your help

Hi.

I use the plantronics telephone headset. It has the keypad base and the headset connected to it. The model number is Plantronics T10. It works great. There is no hold button on it and I have never needed to use a hold button on the phone itself. If you need to place someone on hold you can do that on the VCMS system that you use on your computer. I am using this phone unit for all my work at home jobs. I think it was about $30 or $40. I also use the Plantronics VOIP headset that has two plugs at the end. The plugs go into your computer and you will use that only when you are in your training class. You will be able to hear other students talking and you can talk back to them as well. The VOIP was only about $10 and works great. When they are talking about noise cancelling microphones I think they just mean that boom on the headset needs to be noise cancelling for background noise. I think most have that built in. So you only need two items here.

Hello Quezsmom. Congratulations on joining "Arise". I worked for them a few years ago when they were willowcsn.com. It was a very good company to work for. However, I trained for two opportunities before I was accepted for one. That was quite costly when you consider the monthly fee and the $99. Then after about one month, the opportunity was discontinued and I tried for a few other opportunities (again quite costly). So, I decided to just work for "west". You might be interested in Cloud10. They are hiring right as we speak for te DTV project. No fees, easy quailification and once this project is over, if you did good, work, they'll keep you on.

My phone is a simple AT&T corded phone from Staples. I use a Hello Direct Ultra-Light noise canceling headset that cover both ears. I bought it reburbished for around $99 shipped direct off the Hello Direct website: HelloDirect.com . For the VOIP headset, I just bought an inexpensive one at Circuit City. Best Buy has inexpensive ones too. They either have a USB connection or a two - prong connection. One for hearing the other for the microphone.

You won't need them before doing the first training class.
