I have worked for west for over a year. You are a W2 employee, training is self paced, but must be finished in the time frame set up for your skill. Permanent skill unless the contract is not renewed by client. I've only heard of that happening twice. Depending on which skill you are offered/selected will depend on your work hours. Some you can pick and choose what hours you want to work, others do have shifts. You are paid bi weekly, direct deposit or you can have you pay added to a card. Pay is talk time per minute, some skill do have hourly wage. West has many different clients and skills you can work for. We never know which skill is looking for people. You can't work for West and Live Ops or any other work from home job that is doing the same thing you are doing for west. I've been on DR (Direct Response) since I started, haven't been offered a new skill. For most people the skill you are on is the skill you are going to keep unless something happens like the client leaves west. If that happens you are placed into another skill. There may be a waiting period ( a few weeks or several months), like I said before I've only known that to happen twice since I've been there. HTH Tracey

Hello. I have been working for west for about 6 months and really like it. They are a good company to work for. The skill I'm on pays hourly, and it is a permanent position. Training was self paced with a few sessions that had to be scheduled, but I had some different times to choose from. I set my own schedule, and I'm only required to work 10 hours per month, but that will vary depending on the skill. I've never been required to work any certain hours. I believe they allow you to work for other companies too. I hope this helps.

You can work for as many companies you want and also work for West, I have been with West two years, Liveops 1 year and have worked two other work at home jobs in the last two years.

Michelle, you must not be working DR skill. If you work casual dining for Live Ops and XM satellite radio sales for West, then that is not in competition. On DR you can't because you'd be in direct competition.

So Kim that is what I mean when I said you can't work the same type of job. Since Live Ops and West both have DR skills you would not be able to do that. You could loose your contract and be terminated by both companies. I think most of us who work west work some place else doing different things.

Michelle - what do you think of LiveOps? I've heard both good and bad. Most recently I've heard there isn't much call volume which is affecting everyone's ability to earn money. I've also heard that you only get hours if you've been working there a long time. Any of this true? What kind of programs do they handle in comparison to West? I've been thinking of working for more than one company, so I'd be interested in what you have to say.

Hi Kim,

I have worked for West for 1yr and they are a great! You are paid by the hour, it is 24-7, you can set your on schedule and work whatever hrs you want to work. Sometimes it is hard getting the hours that you want but right now they have a lot of hrs out there waiting for anyone that wants to work them and they are even hiring now. I think it is a great company to work for because of the flexibilty that you have and you are only required to work 10hrs a month. I think you should try it and if it isnt something you like than you can always resign but give it a try you have nothing to lose trying it. I hope this helps some.
