Don't do YTB! I did like them initially even though there were the up front cost and even the monthly fee. But trust me when I tell you the way i get on the rode and the discounts i've gotten i've gotten my money back 10 times over. I did it for that reason...what I would save on my own travel with my family. I even lived with the $49 monthly fee because i did get it back in my savings also. I wasn't for trying to sell the business to people. Anyway then along came the problem with YTB's credentials...their IATA number is no longer valid for discounts with hotels etc. From what i understand is there are some kind of legal issues going on with it.
Then i joined Global Travel under my cousin so that she would get the referral fee and also I had become accustomed to the industry discounts. I am from Philly so I go home alot and for the rates that i get on car rentals, hotels etc...you can't beat them. I even went to Savannah for the weekend and stayed at a hotel in the Historic District for $80 which was the agent rate vs the $279 regular rate.
The start-up cost depends on the offer for that month. When i joined I purchased the top package for $100 less than what I had to pay to join YTB and NO monthly fee.... I didn't find much info online for Global Travel so my cousin gave me the number of a guy that she used when she signed on and when I called him he was great...he gave me all the info and was very very patient. I decided to do it 2days later and called him right back. I'll locate his number if you want to call him you don't have to use me for the referral if you have someone else...i just want you to be well informed!
How do you like working for liveops...i'm excited and hoping to get started soon. I did get accepted with Alpine but hoping for liveops because they seem more flexible. I am looking for something where i can work as much or as little as i want. I might want to hit the road for a few days and want to go if i can...and i think i can if I get into something like this. Especially with my lawn care business...when the season kicks back up i want to put that 1st.
wow did i say a mouthful or what!
