About me: I am a SAHM who is a WAHM. I am married and have a 7 yr. old son with autism. I am an artist and Knitter. I went to Moore College of Art & Design and have a BA in Illustration.

As life went along I taught myself to knit when I was on bed rest in the last trimester of pregnancy. I knitted everything from hats to socks. I opened my first store a year ago on eBay called All things Knitted http://stores.ebay.com/All-Things-Knitted. I was encouraged by my family to sell my purses, jewelry and other things I create. I was reluctant at first because I didn't know how to start. So I just jumped in. I was surprised that I did pretty well and have repeat business.

My second business, which is new, is called Designs by Lisa, on Zazzel http://www.zazzel.com/DesignsbyLisa . I use my skills as a graphic designer and my 8 years experience in the printing industry to create original artwork on t-shirts, coffee mugs, journals, jewelry boxes and other gifts. I have lots of fun thinking up designs for the shop.

I'm very happy that she's enjoying it -- she's a blue personality and has a lot of energy, so working patiently on a project is a new experience for us both. But that also shows that she really likes it.

I mean, when she was smaller I taught her math by setting up a modified hopscotch board just to keep her attention -- LOL!

I have a left-handed daughter and am teaching myself to knit right now, so I'm not much help for her. I've been trying to find a knitting teacher that a) isn't too far away and b) doesn't cost a million dollars to teach an attentive 8 year old.
