Hi! I'm just stopping by to welcome you and invite you to my profile/blogs. Feel free to send me a friends request or leave a comment; especially if what I've been doing from home over the past 4.5 years interests you.

Hi Mary, thank you , u know it's funny I went to grade school with a family named Ott and one of their names was Mary, she had sisters Cathy and Nancy I can't remember the brothers names. I have traveled to quite a few states too but my husband and I plan to go on a cruise next yr, hopefully to the Bahamas. Yes and my girls are wonderful, even though when I got custody of them I was footloose and fancy free, I wouldn't trade them for the world.

Hi Mary,
Thanks for the note. They say genealogy is habit-forming and I know it is! Addiction is the correct word. It's a wonderful hobby because you meet lots of great people who are willing to share (unlike other, more competetive hobbies), and you can drop it for awhile and then pick it up again later. Since the 'Net has made it much easier to find people, things have really changed, of course. Although a lot of the research must still be done in person, you can find a lot of the leads online.

My first home business was writing and publishing a newsletter for users of genealogy software called Reunion. It's the best application for Mac users and has a very loyal following. I have also been a computer tutor and consultant, as well as a web site builder, so I've done a lot of work from home.

I used to live and work near Baltimore, so I know your home turf! I don't miss driving around the beltway, though!

Hi Mary,

thanks for writing to me, I love your saying " do what you love and the money will follow" I just knew what I wanted to do. I worked for my husbands businesses for so long that I dont know what to do anymore, I dont even know who I am anymore. so much has happened to my family in the last year , that I cant even believe it. In a nutshell---we lost our business, home and had to move---we are renting right now and my x just got out of prison for trying to kill me and wants to see the kids , My current wonderful husband is working and doing well but I want to help for the money and for me, but I do still have my 5 year old Caitlyn who is only in half day Kindergarten and that makes it hard to work out of the house, I've been trying to find something at home---do you know of anything good and legite? you sound amazing---how do you do it all? I'm very impressed. please respond back , I would love to get to know you better. Lisa

Hello Mary; No you aren't prying I need all the help I can get. As I said I lost my job after 12 years in June and want to try my luck at working from home, but I haven't had much luck and my husband is starting to get worried - we have been used to a two income family and my severance is starting to run out. As far as getting out of debt - I just have a couple of small loans and then my house. So it isn't as bad as some people but my husband dreams of early retirement. LOL

Killeen is in Central Texas, very near Fort Hood, and is home to several thousands of soldiers and their families. We have been here for almost 12 years and call it home :).
