The need to be available is now creating so many tools for home businesses and in some cases many appear to the outside worl much larger than they are because they have begun to develop a large scale media presence.
Recently a colleague explained how he spent at least twenty minutes a month on prime time news when it came to consumer profiling and spending habits, he is viewed as an authority.
It wasn't his google placement but his YouTube and video content.
Some of the contact times were odd but he had all the technology to keep available and accessible to the media - he described his approach as holistic media.
This got me thinking - how am I preparing myself for next year? I already use tools for communication but I have the face for radio and I am the annual pin up for the Lemmings convention just enough to push them over the edge (I suppose that puts me on some ecowarrior hitlist)
The next question was cost - can I afford to invest in new technology again? Of course the budget will allow some spending on media communications but will I require a high level of personal investment to get this presence. I googled GNU and to my pleasant surprise with a little inginuity I can add a range of tools without too much cost
So how will all this be implemented? Thats the next question and the thought patterns are leaning towards a new business strategy to create in all the networks a video, and audio presence, online workshops and animated characters because my face sinks ships.
Home businesses are not limited in the use of media, do you need training possibly but many of the sites have developer and users forums which are more helpful than most manuals and there are some fantastic networks out there
So let me know what you would want to add to your portfolio of tools and share the ideas it should be fun
