I have been disabled for going on 4 years now. I remember what my first few months were like. I was scared. Just how was I going to make it on a limited income? How was I going to provide for my wife and child? Would Disability be enough? The more I thought about it the more questions I had and the more worried about the future I became.
A friend told me that he had seen a lot of folks moving into the work at home - virtual or remote worker world. I checked with the Social Security Administration and they hooked me up with a A Ticket to Work -
www.yourtickettowork.com. The short definition for this program is, you have the ability to try to learn new skills, earn extra cash and be productive as a Disabled American and not put your Disability payments at risk. This was exactly what I needed.
The best source for jobs for Disabled Americans I have found has to be J. Lodge. They specialize in working with folks on the Ticket to Work program and help find you work in data entry, customer service or call center positions and many more. They are hiring right now in New York, Ohio, New Mexico and Virginia. If you want more information, check them out at
www.jlodge.com/careers. I know you will find a wealth of information there and great people to help you be all you can be.
