There are several ways to do it but the one I would suggest is to find an online school that offers classes to become a TA. The other thing I would suggest if you have the money is to go to www.thetravelinsititute.com and sign up for their beginner course. This will give you the foundation to build on, then as you put in the years you can follow their program to the top. I am a CTC (Certified Travel Counselor) and you have to be an agent for 5 years and have take the two Certifications prior to that step. This is the best way to do it, there are many companies that claim you can join them and travel to all these great places for cheap and only have to sell a bit of travel. DO NOT buy into it as they are what are called card mills and illegal in the Travel Industry. There are several out there so just be careful if you get an Email saying start a career in travel......You do need to do schooling that is the only way....The Cruise industry also offers courses for their certifications and you can find them at www.cruising.org. Let me know what you decided and if you need a mentor I would be happy to help you along. Travel is Slow right now because of the economy so really think if this is something you want to do. You will always be taking classes to keep up on the industry but almost all are free.
I usually can average with hsn anywhere from 9-15 dollars an hour. I am not sure on direct response I knew a girl that was doing direct response but she has quit and took on a fulltime job away from home. I was also looking at the sears opportunity I am qualified but I need to call support I tried running the puter check and it wont work so therefore I dont want to spend anymore money if it isnt going to work. One other thing I was going to tell you about Direct Response be careful with them I done know much about them but there was someone on this site that a discussion saying that she signed on one day and had a message she was terminated.
I have worked for west at home for 1 yr now and I do hsn. I like the company and the job. I am currently looking into clients with arise have not selected one yet.

They give you free leads a month for the postion you are working for plus there are other ways they will give you leads when someone signs up for the service or you find others who are interested in working from home like you and you get more leads. I say its worth a try I have been doing great and I have more leads than I can handle thats for sure, but I'll keep taking it,lol. You don't have to pay anything to work for them so you have nothing lose. Hope this helps

I just got an email stating I was reday for the background checkbut it stated that my SS number was already in the system and I know that I have never applied to them befor. Also how long did it take you to get going with them? Thanks for any advice!
Just saw your comment today, Sorry. I was certified to work with CC Customer Service but decided against it (after the class and the certification). We were the first ones/guinea pigs for that particular client. It didn't seem to be a hard one, but Avaya was not working well. I have two friends that trained with me on that one, one resigned after me because he could never get his log on info, the other is still working but he is not getting as many hours as he would like. Hope this help.
I am currently working for LiveOps. I am in the middle of doing my 30 calls. However 2nite I was on the phone and the same man kept calling me 3 times in a row ! I thought that was impossible! And he didn't want to order anything he just wanted to talk to me it was really odd and a little scary i would log off and then try to log in again and as soon as i would my phone would ring...
